CMMC

The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)) is committed to working with the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) sector to enhance the protection of controlled unclassified information (CUI) within the supply chain. Simply put, the OUSD(A&S) with the assistance of other institutions enforce the protection of CUI in nonfederal systems and organizations. The best way to protect an organization’s CUI in accordance with the government’s requirements is to meet a certain cybersecurity maturity model certification (CMMC).

The regulations are everchanging but can found on the following the websites: https://www.acq.osd.mil/cmmc/draft.html and https://csrc.nist.gov/publications/detail/sp/800-171/rev-2/final. As with all security methodologies/frameworks, standards must be met and consequently followed. It is important to note that there are five CMMC levels, and each level requires more controls than its previous level. Additionally, a higher level must meet all criteria of its previous level(s). Let WeCcode’s cybersecurity experts help you find the proper path to a successful CMMC.
